GRACE

Happy May folks!  Is it me or do you guys also feel like year 2018 is moving super fast… fifth month already? (please let me know in your comment).

Well, good thing is I get to write about GRACE.  In biblical terms, the number 5 denotes God’s grace.  You might ask, what is grace?  In Ephesians 2:8 (NLT) – God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God.

I define grace as an unmerited free but costly gift to all.  Unmerited because, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us – Romans 5:8b.  Free in the sense that you don’t pay for gifts… that’s easy. Costly because the one (Jesus) who paid for it, paid with His life. When He said “It is finished” (John 19:30) on Calvary; He made this gift (Grace) available to anyone who believes.  It doesn’t matter who you are, what you’ve done or are doing, this gift is for ALL.

Here’s the best part – inside this unmerited free gift of Grace are diverse gifts.  Life, health, wealth, strength, fulfillment, career, success, godly spouse (if you’re single), family, joy, peace, purpose, victory, mercy, favor, help… you name it.  It’s a bundle of blessings.

I’ll leave you guys with a personal experience.  Last Sunday, May 6, 2018; I had rushed home from church to get something really important.  I double parked, put on the hazard lights, turned off the engine and locked the vehicle from the inside.  Few minutes I was out, ready to head back… but I had left the key in the ignition. (I know right?!?!)

Guys, I was stranded and needed to be back in church before the close of service.  Pacing back and forth and trying to keep my cool in the heat wasn’t funny.  As I thought of what to do, two gentlemen across the street came over having observed my dilemma.  They immediately got a piece of hanger to help pick the lock.  As they tried to straighten the hanger, a neighbor came out with a “slim jim” to also help.  Long story short, these three men helped me out of my predicament and I was back to church in no time.

Did those guys just happen to be there at the right time or was it destiny for me to meet three guys for the first time or did my timing just coincide with theirs or were they just been helpful or was it because they had the tool for the problem?  Point is, it wasn’t like I had helped any one of them in the past or we were friends and I “deserved” their help, No. It was simply God’s grace that brought help and favor my way.  The same God, same grace is still available today for ALL.

In Genesis 6:8; Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord; may we always find grace in God’s eyes.  Until next time wonderful people, remember you are what you are by the grace of God – 1 Corinthians 15:10.  Don’t take the credit!

The Lord is just too compassionate…

“Who am I that You are mindful of me”….

The Lord will permit situations to happen, to demonstrate that He alone is our Savior not man. And also give room for platforms to display His Glory. See how He sends us help at the designated time. Never too late, not a second early. On time God. Grace is simply.. On Time.

That definition simply nailed it. Unmerited yet costly. I will never be ungrateful to you Lord. Your grace found and loved me just as I am. Good one…

Very well written and exemplary post! I’m laughing at you because I remember your haste that Sunday in trying to leave church and make it back. I thought to myself and may have even said it “be careful driving” because I know how easily distracted we can be when we have a goal in mind, especially when we feel the pressure of time (anxiety). God knew this already. Knew that you were rushing, knows the imperfection of man, and knows that the enemy is lying in wait for any opportunity to derail. So God sent ahead helpers for His child. Grace indeed.

Yes Sade… you remember every detail. And yes, you did tell me to drive safe. You’re absolutely right; God who knows the end from the beginning sent helpers ahead. You know what, the enemy tries to ambush us but thank God for His grace that goes ahead to make a way of escape. May we always come in contact with grace in Jesus name.
