Easter…

Wow! Wow!! A huge THANKS for visiting WORDjunkie. This is my first official post and I’m stoked. Every other week, I’ll be sharing with you guys pure dose of the word as led by the Spirit. I would love to hear from you; so please follow, like, share, comment.

Sunday, April 1 was Easter Sunday (not April fool’s day… lol) and I thought what better way to start off by talking about Easter. Easter is the celebration within the Christendom of the resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is pivotal to Christianity as it describes God’s love for all mankind. So it’s not about the Easter eggs, bunnies or tasty meals (shout-out to my sister for the tasty fried rice); it is divinity taking responsibility for the fall of humanity and reconciling that estranged relationship.

Ladies and gentlemen, without taking much of your time let’s dive in. Today, I want us to take a close look at Matthew 28:2 which tells of the resurrection of the Savior, Jesus Christ.

Matthew 28:2 (KJV)

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat upon it.

Just FYI… I often use the King James Version because it serves as standard or authority but I also like the flavors of other versions. I have underlined four (4) key words that will make this read pretty enjoyable.

Earthquake: Friends, allow me to say that some storms or challenges we face, that seem to turn everything we’ve worked hard for upside down are indications of our coming breakthrough. The earthquake was an indication that Jesus was about to rise – to leave that state of death (negative) to a state of life (positive). We went through fire and through water: but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place – Psalms 66:12b (KJV). When we go through negative situations, let’s think of the positive that awaits us. Perhaps, you are going through a storm right now, it is to build you up, strengthen you, move you into a better place or phase in your life. Some fires we go through are to reveal our friends and foes. Some fires are to burn those things that do not glorify God in our lives. So friends, weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.

Angel of the Lord: Are not all the angels ministering spirits sent out [by God] to serve (accompany, protect) those who will inherit salvation? [of course they are!] – Heb 1:14 (AMP). God sends His angels to minister (i.e. help, serve, minister, accompany, protect, fight, deliver) on our behalf in difficult times; so it is to our benefit when we invoke their presence for assistance. When we look through the Bible, we see several instances where God specifically sent His angels on specific assignments; Daniel 10:11, Genesis 18:1-2, Numbers 22:31, Judges 6:11-12, Judges 13:6-7 just to mention a few. You don’t have to go through that situation yourself… simply ask God to send you His angel.

Stone: In my About page, I talked a little bit about the systems of this world. The stone here represents a man-made structure, device, instrument designed to stop, stall or slow one’s progress in life. In Matthew 27:62-66, the Bible says the Chief Priests and Pharisees asked Pilate that the stone be sealed and sure to ensure that Jesus would never rise. Unbeknownst to them, Jesus was on a mission, destined to complete it. So are you; the systems and structures of society and the world cannot stop your destiny, purpose, glory and assignment here on earth. In fact, what makes Christianity true and different from other religions is that Jesus died and rose from the grave. Other religions do not recount their prophets or saviors dying and living again. Nothing can stop you folks – understand that God has put you on earth for a purpose and no scheme, person or group of persons or the ”powers that be” can prevent you from fulfilling that purpose. They may try but they are not stronger than Christ, Romans 8:35-39. As you study the word and pray, God is rolling away anything that has limited your progress in life.

Door: A door grants you access (either to enter or exit) and access in turn gives you assets. Doors in our lives depict access to opportunities, blessings, health, wealth, health, good jobs, great relationships etc. The stone was rolled against the door of the tomb to block Jesus from leaving. A lot of times we are stuck in unfavorable circumstances, live in certain tomb-like situations; not been able to leave or get out because the good door has been shut against us. In fact we become accustomed to these abnormal situations that we embrace them as normal. A lot of us are alive but without life; not being able to enjoy God’s gift of abundant life nor living life to the fullest. Either dead in sin, overwhelmed with hurt and betrayal, beaten by life, dejected, rejected or depressed, weakened by one ailment after ailment.
It’s my prayer that God will open every closed door that has prevented you access to the good of the land and restore to you lost opportunities. Understanding is given to you, freedom is yours and access is granted to you by His grace.

Until next time, remember that a life without Christ will be with crisis.

Indeed, every earthquake, stone and door we experience in life is a confirmation of God’s word that better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof. I am immensely blessed by this piece… More grace, more auction.

Word Up! Def an eye opener. Each symbol you demonstrated are comparative to the 4 legs on a chair — without one, the chair can’t really fulfill it’s purpose (removing one leg, may lead to a fall as well). Nonetheless, it’s not the end for the chair… it still CAN fulfill purpose. Keep the torch flaming SOJ

Very detailed and descriptive! I often shy away from the KJV because of the style of language, but your explanation of the scriptures and current day applicability makes reading the Bible more enjoyable! Thank you!
