TIME & CHANCE

So guys, I’ve decided to add to my bucket list – trip to Buckingham Palace. Why? I’ll explain. I know a lot of us probably saw the royal wedding or at least highlights. As a guy who’s not so emotional; truth is – I was touched as I watched the church ceremony. It was beautiful!! Days later, I read an article with the picture below…

On the left side is a 15 year old Meghan (black dress) posing outside Buckingham Palace and believe it or not, 22 years later she’s married to the Prince. Maybe if I travel to London, pose in front of Buckingham Palace, someday I might become friends with a Royal, who knows… lol.

For Meghan Markle, it was her time to sparkle. It didn’t matter if she’s biracial, a divorcee; it was simply her time and chance. Like Queen Esther in the bible who was an orphan (Esther 2:15, KJV) – when it was her turn (time and chance) to go see the King, she found favor in the sight of all them that looked upon her.

Ecclesiastes 9:11 (KJV)

I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.

Time is the opportune, appointed and favorable moment by God when everything comes and works together for your good. It’s a defining and unique moment in one’s life. Chance is God’s orchestration of events for the convergence of favorable happenings in one’s life.

Friends, success in life isn’t always predicated on our speed and agility, wisdom and understanding or strength and skill. It is all decided by time and chance – being in the right place at the right time. Please, do not disregard the important roles wisdom, knowledge, skill, speed, diligence, persistence, etc all play in attaining success. However, after all said and done, you need God’s hand of favor and approval to make your effort(s) yield much fruit and increase. Don’t just rely on the human element only but combine it with the divine element as well (i.e prayer, praise, fasting, seed sowing etc). We need to pray, plan, prepare and pursue!!

So the good news is; your financial status, marital status, professional status, societal status or spiritual status might not be where you would want them to be. But when it’s your time, no one and nothing can stop your shine. Be content, don’t compare yourself to the Joneses or think the grass is greener on the other side, celebrate the success of others, stay in your gifting, work hard and don’t forget to say a prayer to God. Soon, time and chance will happen and you’ll realize you’re actually living your dream.
